Summary

Under the supervision of the Building Principal the Restorative Coach at Anchor Bay High School plays a pivotal role in promoting a culture of respect, understanding, and accountability within the school community. The primary focus of this position is to implement restorative practices to address conflicts, misconduct, and disciplinary issues in a proactive and constructive manner.

 

Supervision Received and Exercised

Receives general supervision from higher-level staff. Exercises supervision of lower-level staff.

The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. 

Must possess mobility to perform moderate physical work; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone or radio. The classification supports indoor and outdoor programs requiring frequent walking, running, conducting exercises, and related physical activities. Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer keyboard, calculator, or tools and equipment used in the assigned program area. Program activities may require sitting, standing, walking on level and slippery surfaces, reaching, twisting, turning, kneeling, bending, stooping, squatting, crouching, grasping, and making repetitive hand movement in the performance of daily duties; the ability to lift, carry and push tools, equipment, and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds or heavier weights with assistance and/or the use of proper equipment.

 

Environmental Elements

Incumbents work in both indoor and outdoor environments with moderate to loud noise levels. May work in controlled temperature conditions, cold and hot temperatures, or inclement weather conditions. May be exposed to communicable illnesses, blood, and body fluids. Incumbents will interact with individuals in interpreting and enforcing rules, policies, and procedures.

 

Working Conditions

Incumbents may be assigned an on-call and irregular work schedule, including weekends, early mornings, and evenings.

 

Pre-Employment Conditions

 

The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or non-prescription controlled substance use and/or abuse in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the district in accordance with all Board of Education policy and Administrative Regulations.
